Statements After Participating in the Presidential and City and Village Islamic Council Elections at Imam Khomeini's (may his soul be sanctified) Hosseiniyeh

In the Name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

First of all, we thank the Almighty God for the blessing of popular sovereignty, elections, and the presence of the people; this is a great blessing. Thanks be to God, our people are also grateful for this blessing, as you can see that they participate.

My recommendation is that they participate as much as possible and come to the polling stations as soon as possible. I believe that good deeds should be done at the right time; they should not be delayed.

I believe that the presidential election is very important; the fate of the country is in the hands of the people who elect the head of the executive branch; therefore, they should pay attention to the importance of this task.

The elections for the city and village councils are also important because those elected will handle urban and rural services—that is, the everyday issues of the people; this is also important. They should participate in the elections with care, consideration, and understanding, God willing; this is my recommendation to all the people.

I also thank our dear brother and the officials of the broadcasting organization for their efforts; I thank the journalists who are engaged in the important work of news transmission.
