Statements Following the Prayer over the Body of Dr. Abbas Shibani

God willing, may God have mercy on Mr. Dr. Shibani and elevate his ranks. Mr. Dr. Shibani was truly among the righteous individuals. We have known him for a long time, for perhaps fifty-some years. He had just been released from prison; I think it was in 47 or 48 when we became acquainted. He was an active, benevolent, and ready-to-work person, and truly a fighter; this is how it was.

I came to Tehran with the late Taher Ahmadzadeh from Mashhad; we had some work here, and it was necessary to gather a group of thoughtful and knowledgeable individuals like Mr. Taleghani, Engineer Bazargan, Dr. Sahabi, and others; Ahmadzadeh and I had something to discuss with them. Ahmadzadeh said that gathering them was not our job, it was Abbas Shibani's job; he could gather them. So we contacted him, and he came and we said we had such a task, and immediately — I think perhaps within two days — he gathered a meeting of fifteen or sixteen people, including Dr. Shariati, Mr. Beheshti, Mr. Motahhari, everyone; he was that kind of person; ready to work. After the revolution, he was truly engaged in work, striving. His wife also really supported him. May God have mercy on Mrs. Mofidi, God willing.
